Thank you @fashionfilmfestivalchicago for recognising this film and honouring with the “Essence of Fashion”. award. It’s a lovely reminder that filmmaking is not about the size of the budget or the camera 🫶
It feels emotional after such a rollercoaster of years in creative and personal life - the two are inseparable.

I’ve always loved the quality and spirit of CFFF, and I’ve been screening with them since 2012, almost every year. So it truly is an honour to receive this ✨

When I shot and directed “Immunity” it was one of my favourite shoot. I spent only 6 days in LA and also shot a music video and attended to red carpet in that short time. However I had no idea how many hidden symbolic elements will be in this film. I always loved the imagery, but I didn’t know I will transition in a few years. This image which I always loved is full of with emotions and desperate fragmented almost suicidal symbolism. I was so down those years its almost hard to even watch the film. I still love it and its still valid, but new layers emerge now (like with Cry of the City) and it has so different meaning then I thought it had. I wonder if the whole Americana, pulp fiction / b-movies vibes were just a cover up of deeper meanings and issues.
